10 Ways To Get More Photo Booth Bookings in 2023 - (FAST)

If you’re looking to start a photo booth business or you’ve already started one but are struggling to attract customers, this guide will provide you with tips and strategies on how to get more photo booth bookings. I’ve personally used all of these to grow to over 350 bookings each year, and you can do the same.
(1) Identify Your Target Market
The first step to get more Photo Booth Bookings for your photo booth business is to identify your target market. Who are the people that would be interested in renting a photo booth for their event? Although obvious, this step is crucial. Some potential target markets include:
- Weddings: Wedding photo booths are a popular choice for couples who want to provide their guests with a fun and memorable experience.
- Corporate events: Photo booths are a great addition to corporate events, as they offer a way for employees to let loose and have some fun while still promoting the company brand.
- Birthday parties: Photo booths are a hit with both kids and adults at birthday parties. They offer a fun way to capture memories of the special day.
- School events: Photo booths are a popular choice for school events such as proms and homecoming dances.
Once you’ve identified your target market, you can start to tailor your marketing efforts towards them.
(2) Build a Professional Website
In today’s digital age, having a professional website is essential for any business. Your website should be visually appealing and easy to navigate, with clear information about your services and pricing. Be sure to include high-quality photos of your photo booth and examples of past events you’ve worked on. It’s also a good idea to include customer reviews and testimonials on your website to build trust with potential clients.
(3) Leverage Social Media
Social media is a powerful tool for promoting your photo booth business. Platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter allow you to showcase your photo booth and the events you’ve worked on. Be sure to use high-quality photos and engaging captions that highlight the unique experience that a photo booth can offer. You can also run paid ads on social media to reach a larger audience. I personally recommend posting at least once a day, especially to begin with. Even if you haven’t started yet, you can still post your journey and this will inspire friends and family who are following to support you and ultimately book you. My first-ever booking was through a friend who wanted to help me out!
Some things you can post about if you’re new:
- Branding/ Logos
- New kit arriving
- Test photos of friends
- venues you are at, remember to tag the venue!
- Colour palettes or Pinterest branding you like (You’re selling the vibe)
(4) Attend Trade Shows and Networking Events
Attending trade shows and networking events is a great way to get your photo booth in front of potential clients. Look for events in your area that cater to your target markets, such as bridal shows or corporate events. Be sure to have plenty of business cards and marketing materials on hand to hand out to attendees.
I recommend looking for new shows, smaller shows, and venues doing their own wedding fayres that will let you set up for free. The big shows can be expensive and when you’re starting out they may not be cost-effective for you. What we do is offer our photo booth for free, in exchange we put the details of the show/ venue on the printouts, so attendees get a freebie that they will stick on their fridge, with both of your branding on it!
(5) Use Google Ads (recommended).
Google Ads is another effective and FAST marketing strategy to get more photo booth bookings. I personally used Google Ads when I launched my photo booth business and from day one I had booking coming in. Literally, day one. I ran ads for around 1.5 years until my business was established and I had a great base of returning customers who keep us busy. Google Ads is an advertising platform that allows you to create and display ads on Google’s search engine results pages. This is a great way to reach potential clients who are actively searching for photo booth rentals online.

My Google Ads Account generated 600 leads (not including phone calls) over 3 years.

(6) Partner with Other Vendors
Partnering with other vendors in your industry can be a great way to get more exposure for your photo booth business. For example, if you specialise in wedding photo booths, you could partner with wedding planners or photographers to offer package deals for clients. You can also offer referral discounts to vendors who refer clients to your business.
Another option is to ‘become a white labelling ‘white label’ for other photo booth companies. We often can’t service events but we have a network of similar suppliers who will attend the events for us, and say they are from our company. You could reach out to existing photo booth businesses and offer your services to them. It won’t grow your brand but it’s a good way to get earning quickly!
(7) Utilize Email Marketing
Email marketing can be a highly effective way to reach potential clients and keep your current clients engaged. Collect email addresses from clients at events and use them to send out newsletters, promotions, and updates about your business. Be sure to provide value in your emails by including helpful tips and tricks for event planning or showcasing some of your past work. Many sleep on this, if you have a large list of previous customers to whom you provided a fantastic service to, chances are they will book you again or recommend you to a friend!
(8) Invest in SEO – (Long Term Strategy)
Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the practice of optimising your website to rank higher in search engine results pages without paying for it. This can be a powerful way to attract potential clients to your photo booth business. Be sure to include relevant keywords on your website, such as “photo booth rental in *your area*” and “wedding photo booth” to help search engines understand what your business is all about. You can also create blog content that is optimised for keywords related to your business, such as “creative photo booth ideas” or “how to plan the perfect event.” By investing in SEO, you can help potential clients find your business when they search for photo booth rentals online.
(9) Attend Events and Festivals
Attending events and festivals is a great way to get your photo booth in front of a large audience. Look for events in your area that attract your target market and see if you can set up a booth or sponsor the event. This will give you the opportunity to showcase your photo booth and interact with potential clients in person. Be sure to bring plenty of marketing materials and offer special promotions for attendees.
(10) Provide Excellent Customer Service
Perhaps the most important factor in getting customers for your photo booth business is providing excellent customer service. Make sure that you are responsive to inquiries and that you are friendly and professional when working with clients. Be sure to arrive at events early and set up your photo booth in a timely manner. During the event, make sure that you are engaging with guests and offering tips on how to take the best photos. After the event, follow up with clients to ensure that they were satisfied with your services and to ask for feedback.
In conclusion, getting customers for your photo booth business requires a combination of marketing strategies and excellent customer service. By identifying your target market, building a professional website, leveraging social media, attending trade shows and networking events, offering special promotions, partnering with other vendors, utilising email marketing, investing in SEO, attending events and festivals, and providing excellent customer service, you can attract more clients to your photo booth business and build a successful and profitable business over time.
